The news has been revealed by Local Power Management Minister Elbert Krasniqi, through a writing on his Facebook account.
“Happy to share the news that Kosovo has become the youngest member of Open Government Partnership. We, through this organisation join the nations of the democratic world, pledging common principles for open, responsible and innovative governance by engaging in increased citizens' participation in decision making”, have written Krasniqi in his announcement.
We remember that the Partnership for Open Governance (OGP) is a multilateral initiative aimed at ensuring concrete commitments by national and sub-national governments to promote open governance, empower citizens, combat corruption and exploit new technologies to strengthen governance.
In the spirit of multi-party co-operation, the OGP is monitored by a governing committee involving representatives of governments and civil society organisations.
