Investigations into several oil price hikes last year begin

The authority reports that the decision to launch investigations into these companies is taken today ( Thursday) at the AKK meeting.
The allegations are that companies have violated Article 5, paragraph (1) under paragraph (1.1) of Law No. 08/ L-056 for the Protection of Competition, so directly or indirectly they have assigned trading prices or any other trading conditions to continue with paragraph (1.2). This action has limited or controlled production, markets, technical development, or investments, as well as Article 9, of Law No. 08/ L-056 for the Protection of Competition, paragraph (2) under paragraph (2.1) directly or indirectly have set unfair sales prices or other unfair trade conditions, as well as under paragraph (2.2) companies have limited production, markets or technological development at the expense of consumers”, the announcement says.
The Competition Authority requires companies that are part of the investigation under way for 30 days to bring documentation concerning food oil sales at 3.49m per litre in Mars of 2022.
Authority reports that, the beginning of the procedure for investigating competition disorder, is aimed at clarifying facts and thereby confirming alleged violations.
“The AKRK will make its merit decision based on proven facts of the case and will keep the opinion and citizens at the end of the announcement informed.
