The Network for Human Rights (HRN), composed of seven non-governmental organisations, on August 8th called on Kosovo's justice institutions for a once-in-aggression “ ” of a graphite in Pristina on Monday, which called for the murder of homosexuals.
On a street of Pristina University campus (UP), on the morning of August 7th saw a graph with an English-language inscription: “kill the gays”, or in Albanian: “destroy homosexuals”.
“Crimes with such content with calls for murder must be investigated urgently, and merit sentences should be pronounced under law in force. Calls for murder and the language of used and visualised in the spaces of a public institution create uncertainty, feelings of fear, anxiety and (re)traumatisation in persons LGBTIQ+ and, at the same time, are directly threatening this community and society”, it is said in a response of HRN on Facebook.
Kosovo Police spokesman for the Pristina region Agron Borovci told Radio Europe Free late Monday that any inscription that has serious elements is handled by police, but did not confirm whether police have launched any investigation.
On Monday afternoon, an organisation which calls for gay rights Facebook social network has posted a photo showing that “virate” was written “puthni”.
