EU sanctions: By year's end, Kosovo will lose half-billion euros

About 500m euros are supposed to lose Kosovo from the measures taken by the international community, since the Kurti Government has refused to line up with international partners in the north of Kosovo, reports Online Economy.

In addition to the damages in the economy, the justice system will suffer major losses, as the European Union is considered the main donor in justice reform.

The chairman of the Kosovo Business Alliance (AKB), Agim Sahin, says that by the end of the year, it is envisioned that Kosovo loses about 500m euros.

The head of the UN sees the international factor as co-owners of Kosovo's liberation and independence.

Kosovo is experiencing a time when no one has thought that after the liberation we will be faced with sanctioning measures against Kosovo by friends who have been and are co-owners of the country's liberation and independence, and this is the result of a pressure being given to Kosovo institutions, to accept a requirement that is associated with the stabilisation of northern Kosovo. In this context, these measures are punitive against the government but will also suffer citizenship and business. From the SAA measures and the trade conferences that Kosovo has or will stop funding from the IPA, these are the measures we will feel if we will continue until the end of the year, especially the export manufacturer's business and the damage may be over 500m euros, and this is probably the biggest damage Kosovo can do in this”, Sahin says.

And the decision on license plates and holding elections in the north of the country without the presence of Serbs are mistakes that, according to Sahin, are made by Kosovo institutions.

And major consequences according to lawyer Ardian Bajraktari will also be observed in the justice system. According to him, the European Union is considered the main donor in the field of justice.

“Initiously, it should be made clear that the European Union is one of the main donors in supporting reform processes, with particular emphasis on justice, but not only, in this direction, of course, that such warnings are a very depressing signal for the country and the way in which we as a state intend to achieve it in the Euro-Atlantic structures, but I am hoping that at last there will be a moment of reflection on the part of our institutions, which despite the fact that in a legal and constitutional respect, they have the right to take such actions to extend sovereignty to the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo, in fact that international partners are looking for the co-ordination and in terms of such situation, Bayak.

It has also cited funds provided by the European Union in the justice system. Example has received support in digitizing criminal data, where citizens can be equipped online with certificates for criminal cases.
