KEDS has intensified shares in electricity misuse controls.
An estimated 40,000 raids have been realised for this year's January-May period and close to 29,000 abuses have been identified. Compared to the same period last year, when net losses were 18.2%, this five-month losses have dropped to 16.7%.
Only last week have some 2,000 checks been realised, of which some 160 were abuses. In the course of these raids, throughout May, KEDS teams have realised nearly 8,000 controls of consumers allegedly misusing electricity. Some 600 proved to be bypassing the precise measurement of electricity.
Control teams at KEDS will continue to implement controls across Kosovo on a daily basis with the aim of minimising net losses.
Misuse of electricity is unacceptable and punishable.
Such cases, KEDS teams will present for further judicial procedures.
