Germany Says Co-ordination With Kosovo for Declare of Terrorist Organisations in the North

After the US, Germany has also been declared in connection with the proclamation of two Serb organisations as terrorist organisations by the government of the Republic of Kosovo.

Germany's Embassy of Pristina press office has told Clankosova.tv that the decision has been taken without co-ordination with Germany.

Even the German Embassy is said to have not been informed of the government's move in advance.

The decision has not been co-ordinated with Germany either, nor has the German government been informed by the Kosovo authorities of this act in advance”, the Embassy for Clankosova has said.tv.

In response it is also said that being witnesses to the current crisis in the country's northern municipalities, “a close co-ordination with international partners would have been useful”.

It is important that any decision of this type should respect relevant laws and the principle of proportionality. We reiterate our call for the Government of Kosovo to refrain from any unilateral action that could further escalate the situation in northern municipalities”, the Office for the Press of Germany's Embassy in Pristina has stressed.

Meanwhile, in announcing the decision to declare “Civil Protection/Civilna zakhtita” and its component “North Brigade/ Severina Brigade” as terrorist organisation, Jalal Svecla, minister of Internal Affairs, said the decision has been made in co-ordination with the Allies.

We constantly coordinate with all our allies, sometimes agree on sometimes. Of course for this step we have been co-ordinating”, he said at yesterday's media conference following the government's meeting, while adding that in time they will share details of this process with strategic partners.

Even the United States of America has reacted to the Kosovo government's decision to declare two Serb groups from the north as terrorist organisations.

The same as Germany, the US, through a State Department spokesman, has told Clankosova.tv that the move was taken without co-ordination with them and with other international partners.

The Kosovo Government's decision to declare these groups as terrorist organisations was not co-ordinated with the United States and other international partners. This decision has had to be co-ordinated with Kosovo's closest international partners, including those responsible for ensuring Kosovo's stability”, the spokesman has stressed, on questions sent by Klakosova.tv.
