Wounding north: One policeman allegedly fired a gun, three were suspended

Kosovo police have reported that four police officials have been suspended as suspects in including a case in the north where one person was injured, writes Periscope.

“Based on the information and provided evidence have been made suspension measures against the police official, since the same one had not reported on the case and his involvement in the case, from where the KP had issued reports that it had not been involved in exchange or shooting. Suspendation measures have also been taken against three other possible officials involved in the case. Therefore, in order to continue to keep the opinion on police actions and found by official investigations, a police official is suspected to have been involved in this case, and that for this reason the Kosovo Police Department of Kosovo has immediately announced the Kosovo Police Inspectorate and the competent Prosecutor for further criminal procedures”, it is said in the statement.

Kosovo police, in connection with the recent hours of 10,04.23 in the country's north, where one person was wounded by the firearm, have continued intensive investigations with police units from the regional and central level, with the aim of investigating and lighting the case as soon as possible. As a result of unbroken investigations and commitments of police units at the scene, as well as a result of examining provided evidence, evidence has been obtained showing doubts about the possible involvement of a police official in gun shooting. Based on information and provided evidence, there have been measures of suspension of the police official, since the same one had not reported on the case and his involvement in the case, from which the KP had issued reports that it had not been involved in exchange or shooting. Suspendation measures have also been taken against three other possible officials involved in the case. Therefore, in order to continue to keep the opinion on police actions and found by official investigations, a police official is suspected to have been involved in this case, and that Kosovo Police, according to previous legal procedures, have immediately announced the Kosovo Police Inspectorate and the competent Prosecutor for further criminal procedures. Kosovo police will continue to carry out official legal authorisation duties, keep the opinion informed fairly and impartially, regardless of who is involved in the case and in no single circumstances will act otherwise, only under legislation in force. At the same time, Kosovo Police will co-operate closely with the Police Inspectorate and State Prosecutor in order to continue to hold police officials responsible, who do not comply with and act according to higher ethical and professional standards.
