Begaj is on a three-day visit to Croatia at the invitation of counterpart Zoran Milanovic.
During his speech, Croatia's President Zoran Milanovic said that Kosovo independent state is a reality now, and that very soon it will be recognised by the few European Union states.
Milanovic added further that Croatia would contribute to Kosovo's performance.
Kosovo is a reality. The largest number of EU and NATO countries have accepted. Places that haven't accepted it if you ask them why they didn't admit it, they won't know the answer.
We will do everything we can and never with the intention of provoking Serbia, but we want to convince them that this is a reality. The reality is such that Kosovo is part of Europe that in a distant future it will be recognised by all EU countries. And Serbia is now in a secular political position.
On the one hand, they have fantasies about reports with Russia, while on the other, they claim to enter Europe. Kosovo is on a good track. We will actively contribute as much as possible”, Croatia's president said, among other things.
President Bajram Begaj was also asked in Croatia as far as Kosovo and the rhetoric used by Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vucic.
Begaj said Kosovo is a sovereign and independent state, while stressing that its territorial integrity is not discussed. Begaj said Balkan leaders who must be set aside empty rhetoric.
Balkan “Liders should behave, not as politicians, but as statesmen. People need to understand that empty, nationalist rhetoric should be put aside that serves no one except the tension increases in our region. For me as president, Kosovo is of great interest. Kosovo is a sovereign, independent state and that Kosovo's territorial integrity cannot be questioned. The international court of justice has decided, this is not a matter of desire or individuals, individuals set aside the rhetoric of conflicts”, Begaj said.
