20 years from first autotransplant at the Jean Mitrev Clinic

In the last two decades at the Jean Mitrev Clinic, five autotransplants have been conducted. This is an operational revolutionary intervention in modern medical treatment of zebra patients. During this operation, the patient's heart is rebuilt outside the chest, and it is a procedure considered extremely specific and complicated to carry out. I was [...]
I was seriously ill, they recommended that I go to Dr. Jean Mitrev, who operated on me and I felt a lot better after just a few days. It's already been five and a half years since I was operated by Dr. Mitrev, and today I feel great, working in the garden with all I can, and I have no problem. I'm grateful that he gave me my life back. ” Says Vera Balosca, one of the self - transplant patients who was operated in 2017.
Heart transplanting, such as procedure, has the same stages as heart transplant from another donor. The difference is that during autotransplantation, the damaged organ is not replaced by a foreign organ, but is being rebuilt by the patient's own heart to which intervention is being carried out.
In patients who need autotransplants usually the left atrium of the heart is extremely extensive that makes it impossible to perform internal surgery, so it is necessary for the heart to be pulled out of the chest, make sure the extracorporal circulation of the blood, and then follows the necessary surgical correction to reduce the patient's left atrium (multural temperature).
If that is not possible, it is replaced with an artificial prosthesis.
The rebuilt heart then returns to the chest and is connected to blood vessels as well as to the transplant.
A total of five such operations have been performed in our clinic from 2000 to now. They were implemented by Dr. Jean Mitrev and his team.
Dr. Mitreve's experience in performing heart transplants/autotransplants dates back 26 years ago when he performed the first heart transplant in Germany.
