That's how Vuciq scares the media in Serbia

Film author “The ruler” has responded to Aleksandar Vuciqi after the news of the indictment. “This is the first time the president has indicted journalists. This is the first time the president has indicted journalists. Like Sanja (Loncar) and I truly believe that this is the way Vucciki is to intimidate journalists and the few media who have the guts,” said journalist Jovana Poliić for Nova after she and her colleague Sanja Loncar were indicted by President Aleksandar Vuciq for two series of series shows “Vladalalac”, which were broadcast in 2020.
Reporter Jovana Polyc, who, like her colleague Sanja Loncar, was indicted by Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, tells Nova that this is a real way to intimidate courageous journalists.
“As you saw in the announcement, we asked whether Vuciq officially intends to lift freedom of expression. In reality, freedom of expression has not existed since he was in power. The question is whether this is another form of pressure on citizens of free thought because it is ruled by fear. We really believe, both Sanja and I, that this is his way of scaring even the few journalists and the media that have the guts”, Poliq points out.
Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq has filed charges against journalists Jovana Polic and Sanja Loncar for two series shows “Ruler”, aired in February 2020 on N1 television.
In the indictment, Vuciq stresses that defendants “have caused severe mental pain and suffering” and have hurt “reputation and its high-level honour”.
The head of state claims he has <x0 fears of high intensity”, as series “Ruler” has represented a kind of media attack on the president of Serbia.
The hearing in which journalists Jovana Polyc and Sanja Loncar should testify, as well as Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, is scheduled for 11 April 2023 at the First Foundation Court in Belgrade.
