“There is a European Union plan for normalising relations between Belgrade and Pristina, I think it is an opportunity for both sides to take advantage of the moment because normalisation is the key to security, stability and prosperity of the region” said Von der Leyen in a conversation with the correspondents of the News Agency that are part of the European editorial network.
Von der Leyen hopes both sides will be constructive at the next meeting, which will be held on March 18th, but has refused to talk about the possible consequences in the event of the meeting's failure.
On Saturday, March 18th, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vucic, are expected to agree about the annex of the agreement on the road towards normalising relations between the two countries.
This annex includes modalities and deadlines for implementing each point of the main plan.
The European side insists that the signing be placed on both documents, considering the impact of implementation without which the agreement is considered there would be no legal or political burden.
