Ukraine: Russian soldiers charged with abuse of four-year-old, rape of her mother

According to Ukrainian prosecution files, the incidents were among the sexual crimes the Russian soldiers of the 15th Brigade have conducted in 4 houses of the Brvary district near the capital, Kiev, in March 2022.

Russia's Defence Ministry did not respond to a request for comment. Phone numbers listed for the brigade were out of office, reports Reuters, Periscope forward.

Two officials at the Samara garrison, part of which is the brigade, said they were unable to provide contacts for the entity when they were contacted by Reuters, with one who said they were classified.

The soldiers entered Brooklyn several days after the invasion began, plundering and using sexual violence as a deliberate tactic to terrorise the population, Ukrainian prosecutors said.

Most of the alleged atrocities occurred on March 13th, when soldiers -- “in an alcohol - drunk state -- entered the backyard where a new family lived” -- claimed prosecutors.

Father fell and was then forced to kneel and his wife was raped in a group. One of the soldiers told the four-year-old girl that “would make her wife” before she was abused, according to documents.

The family survived, although prosecutors said they were investigating other crimes that occurred in the area, including the killings during the same period.

The soldiers were both snipers, aged 32 and 28, reportedly in the file, adding that the first one had died while the young man, called Yevgeny Chernokzhniy, returned to Russia reports Reuters, Periskopi follows.

Reuters was unable to independently confirm its claim. The two snipers were among six suspects charged in the Brvary attacks, which prosecutors say is one of the largest sexual abuse investigations since the invasion.

Following the alleged attack on her daughter and parents, the two soldiers entered the home of an elderly couple in the neighbouring country where they were beaten, prosecutors said, also raping a 41-year-old pregnant woman and a 17-year-old girl. /Periscope
