During a media conference, after meeting with European Union High Representative Josep Borrell and European Commissioner for Neighborship and Enlargement Oliver Varhely, he has added that he hopes Kosovo and Serbia embrace the EU plan, Klan Kosova reports.
You have proven us respect, devotion and a will to support us on this path that is now open to me, fair and certainly not without its difficulties. I am so glad that the atmosphere of this meeting was extremely positive. We have full agreement on the whole axis of this strategy. Albania today is no longer at the end of the integration train, but is at the top of this region where our role is assessed as a model in terms of peace, dialogue and normalisation”.
“We look with admiration upon your bid to normalise relations between Kosovo and Serbia. In our view, the proposal is the best thing that can happen to them. I want to believe with all my heart that neither side will allow itself not to fully embrace the document and its implementation programme because the EU and the United States have really offered themselves a new route. An open door to the future with peace and another time needed to reach the final point of mutual recognition”.
