Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq have already confirmed their participation in this meeting.
In announcing the European Union office, it becomes known that the meeting will take place in state residences.
Starting at 10:00, European Union Foreign Policy chief Josep Borrell and EU envoy for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Miroslav Lajcak will hold separate meetings with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
The meeting will discuss the EU proposal implementation plan for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
Meanwhile, the time for the trilate meeting has not been disclosed.
At the end of the meeting, there will be a media statement by High Representative Josep Borrell.
The Ohrid meeting was warned on February 27th, where a meeting was held while agreeing in principle to the European proposal, but without signing.
After this meeting, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said he was willing to sign the European Union's plan for normalising Kosovo-Serbia relations, known as the Franco-German plan.
And when there are only two days left until the meeting in Ohrid, statements have been added.
Regarding the March 18th meeting the previous day, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, representatives of the country's opposition, US Ambassador Jeffrey Havenier, German Ambassador Jorn Rohde, NATO, etc.
The country's prime minister, Albin Kurti, during his meeting in Strasbourg with European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Commission Chairman, Euro-Deputet David McAllister has talked about the March 18th meeting, to be held in Ohrid and the European Proposal Implementation Plan.
“As far as the implementation plan is concerned with the implementation of the basic Agreement under the European proposal, the prime minister said it should contain concrete details and be comprehensive, to provide effectiveness in implementation and to be sequenced in balanced”, the Government's announcement said.
Meanwhile, United States Ambassador Jeffrey Havenier has declared that the Ohrid meeting is an extraordinary opportunity for Kosovo and Serbia to reach agreement on the European plan for normalisation of relations.
At a meeting that has held with journalists today at the US Embassy building in Pristina, Houvenier said that the actual main focus is on implementing the annex of the agreement.
This interim agreement, which is being worked on, even the implementation that is being negotiated in Ohrid this weekend, we consider it a very important step forward and we think a full deal is reachable. We believe that this agreement, the 11 points that have agreed, the implementing annex that is in negotiation brings real, practical, both political and economic benefits. So, I want to be clear that the current 11 points, they are not negotiating”, he said, the KP reports.
According to the American ambassador, the EU's plan for dialogue does not contain de-jure recognition between the two countries, but mutual recognition should occur in the final, legally binding agreement.
Speaking of the Association of Serb-run municipalities in Kosovo, Hovenier said the same must be established, but added that Kosovo cannot implement something contrary to the 2015 Constitutional Court's decision.
The ambassador also spoke of Kosovo's aspirations to join NATO, saying the US believe Kosovo should one day be a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
The United States has expressed a vision for Kosovo that I believe the people of Kosovo agree, and this is that Kosovo is increasingly taking its place in the European family and being integrated into European and Atlantic structures, including NATO. And our vision for Kosovo on the long-term plan is very direct, we believe that Kosovo should be, a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation one day, and it is only a question of how you will meet the conditions in the right way to achieve this”, said Havener.
He added that if an agreement is reached in Ohrid, and Kosovo is seen as successfully contributing, constructively to reaching this agreement, there will be an added American activity regarding the partnership for peace.
And German Ambassador Jorn Rohde stressed that implementing the annex of the basic agreement from Kosovo and Serbia is essential.
“also full support for the EU proposal from the European Parliament. The agreement on application of annexes from Kosovo and Serbia on March 18th in Ohrid is essential to moving forward on the European road”, Rohde has written on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Besnik Tahiri of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo in a pronouncement for Telegrafi has said open issues must be resolved in accordance with the Constitution.
Kosovo must behave as a serious state. We are on the verge of reaching an agreement that opens perspective to Kosovo and closes an important chapter. As a country we've taken the state pledge and we can't act like nothing happened. Open issues to be resolved in accordance with the Constitution, but the main issue is the framework agreement, which has already been accepted”, Tahiri has declared.
