From today, Gjakova Airport will be exploited by Kosovo Army

Millions of euros would be used for expropriations in Boca's father and at Gjakova Airport, which from now on would be used by the Kosovo Security Force. In the first, tactical policy for the service of KSF soldiers will be built, expected to be on NATO and US standards.

This was made known through a media conference held by Defence Minister Armend Mehaj and the Environment, Space Planning and Infrastructure, Libun Aliu.

Minister Mehaj said that for the construction of the polygons, it will also take place in co-operation with strategic partners, NATO and the United States will also be available to peacekeeping soldiers in Kosovo.

This form of co-operation between the two ministries shows, enabling as soon as possible NATO integration. Our aim is to increase KSF capacity, so these two investments will be in co-operation with our strategic partners. This guarantees that our strength will have all its capacity to exercise. Tactical police in Boca's Father will be built according to NATO and US standards. These tactical policies will not only be available to us but also to our strategic partners”, Mehe said.

In 2023, we conducted expropriations for strategic reasons of the Ministry of Defense. So far, 9.4m euros in payments have been conducted. After the payment, we applied to the Cadastral Agency that the expropriated properties pass to the Department of Defense's Need Government. Almost all property has been carried in the name of Government”, Minister Aliu has said.
