Hovenier said this included progress towards establishing the Association of Serb-run municipalities.
The head of the US Embassy in Kosovo said they support the EU-launched dialogue, while adding that “we are encouraged that both Serbia and Kosovo have in principle accepted the EU proposal”.
We strongly support the EU proposal on the table. Our expectation is that the two leaders will move this proposal forward at their next meeting”.
“Through dialogue, Serbia and Kosovo must reach a comprehensive agreement. We believe normalised relations should focus on eventual mutual recognition. Progress in dialogue will open the door of European integration and is essential for security and stability in the Western Balkans”, Hovenier said
Furthermore, Houvenier said he strongly encourages Kosovo Serbs to return to Kosovo institutions as soon as possible to improve security and stability for all citizens.
