Turkey and Syria are living dramatic times after Monday's morning's devastating earthquake. The death toll has already exceeded 3,500, and thousands more have been injured. As darkness falls, anxiety grows over the thousands of people who remain trapped in collapsed buildings.
Because of the cold weather, rescuers ' work becomes even more difficult. As rescue workers continue to search for survival, thousands of others seek refuge after their homes were destroyed or badly damaged for safety.
Men, women, elders, and even young children seek a place to warm themselves. Foreign media have published several images showing that many citizens in earthquake-affected areas are afraid to enter the residence because of the possibility of further quakes.
