Over 2,000 people injured after earthquake in Turkey

At least 284 people were killed and another 2,323 were injured in 10 provinces after a strong earthquake struck southern Turkey on Monday morning, said Vice President Fuat Oktai, the Anadolu agency broadcast Periscopi. Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said the 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck at 4:17am (0117 GMT) and was centred in the Pazarcik district in Turkey's southern province of Kahramanmaras. The quake occurred at a depth of 7 kilometers (4.3 km).

Gaziantep province, Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Adana, Adıyaman, Malatia, Osmaniye, Hatay and Chile have been severely affected by the earthquake.
