A person has shot into downtown Prague and has left several people and others injured dead.
The number of victims is still unknown, says The Independent.
Interior Minister Vitt Rakusan has told Czech public television that the person who opened the fire is dead.
He said there are no other suspects at the scene and there is no further imminent danger, and urged people to co-operate with the police.
Charles University's philosophical faculty, located in the square, said Prague Mayor Bhuslav Swoboda.
