The government's statements that the draft-status accepted for the Association of Serb majority municipalities will send to the Constitutional Court, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) are seeing it as a theory to be manipulated with citizens.
Of these two parties told the Online Economy that this is being done not to claim that with the formation of association, territorial autonomy would be established within Kosovo.
The LDK has declared they will carefully examine the article under the draft state and oppose it with as much power as they can. While AAK has declared they are concerned with the accepted draft, since earlier, Prime Minister Albin Kurti has declared that he has been willing to sign even without changing it at all.
LDK MP Valentina Bulnjaku said that as a party, she will invite their experts and examine the draft association status, since, according to her, in her first reading, she notes that she gives autonomy to Serbs.
“We draft the status we will carefully consider as the Democratic League of Kosovo, we will call all the experts inside we have to analyse well. But according to the first view that I and all the other members have read, it's about autonomy and it's not expected of Kurti Government. As in the Ohrid talks in their statements in the Kosovo Assembly, between the lines they have acknowledged that Serbs will have some kind of autonomy, and that any party that has been in position has been able to bring such a statute of Serbian autonomy to the north of”.
“We disagree and postpone this section of association and sir Isa Mustafa has sent him to the Constitutional Court, then it's Mogher's letter that these are now being called into this association. We will analyse and of course that each of us in the LDK will object as far as we can, as much as we have... some of the autonomy in Kosovo territory, because our territory is sacred and thanks to the blood that our heroes have shed today we are enjoying this freedom of”, she said.
Bulnjak has said the government is trying to manipulate citizens with the theory that this draft will send to the Constitutional Court, as, according to her, the ministers of this government have violated this court on their own decisions and that they have never accountable for it.
“Which Constitutional Court is referring to, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, which every day its ministers are violating. So I don't believe absolutely in this theory because this is just to manipulate again with citizens not publicly declared that Serbs in the north have autonomy, then he was hiding behind the Constitutional Court. While this Constitutional Court has no minister of them who has not violated even that they have neither resigned nor accountable to MPs or citizens, she said.
AAK MP Pal Lekaj has said the draft status from his party has received many remarks, as it is against the Constitutional and that it creates a territorial autonomy for Serbs. According to him, all this problem has come after Prime Minister Kurti has accepted it without co-ordination with the opposition.
“As far as the status draft for Association is concerned, I think there are very big remarks, and especially from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, we have discussed the Alliance's leadership and we have not agreed with the proposed draft because in many articles it is against the Constitution and create territorial autonomy for Serbs. I think this has come from non-coordination between majority and opposition, and I think that Kurti government holds the responsibility for this draft statute”, he said.
Lekaj has said that Kurti earlier stated he is willing to sign even without changing this draft at all, which, according to him, the only hope of rejecting this draft is the Constitutional Court, reports EO.
“As far as the draft statute is concerned, you know the statement by Prime Minister Kurti, who has said I am willing to sign it without even changing it, so except the Constitutional Court that can reject the government no longer has the right to change but just not to accept it and not take it to the Constitutional Court and not implement it. These are the ones that remain, but I hope the Constitutional Court will give its ruling”, he said.
