Prime Minister Edi Rama, during his summit with representatives of the diplomatic body in Albania, said 2023 has been a good year for the country, thanks to their or EU support.
Rama cited the difficult situation that Palestinians and Ukrainians have faced, while he wished that the new year would be the end of all their sufferings and the two countries would live in peace.
If someone would help me with a glass, I'd ask you to join me to wish New Year's Eve a wish. Unfortunately, I've had to bring in Gaza's great pain since October 7th. It's my responsibility and not everyone's keeping quiet. Without moving any particle from a firm stand that has no place like Hamas in a world we want to live in.
However, it is not very difficult for such violence to last long. Let me wish New Year's end to all suffering. I hope it brings light and peace to Ukrainians, who are fighting against Russian troops.
It was a good year for Albania, thank you for being a part of this year and I can't afford to thank my friends from the EU for the strong support we're receiving from them.
Until not long ago, their approach to Albania and the Western Balkans in general would have been unimaginable. That means everything to us, but we don't take it that easy. Our progress still continues, for transformation in a short time”, Rama said. /tch
