George Goros's departure from the Himara municipality is being described by the Greek media as a victory by Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
They claim the Greek prime minister's pressures have prompted Albanian chief executive Edi Rama to make concessions. Analysing Rama's post, Protothema writes that the prime minister is implying the court could allow Beler's oath as mayor of Himara.
“CNN Greece” considers that the Albanian court claims George Goro cannot be in the mayor, while the fact that Rama accepts this decision is according to this media, a de facto recognition of Fred Beler as mayor. The competent “Vic stresses that the reasoning of the Albanian court ruling confirms that Frede Beleris was elected mayor of the Himara municipality and that the defeated candidate Goro cannot continue to be mayor.
