Albania boosts exports to Kosovo by 8.9 per cent

The Statistics Institute in Albania has indicated that Albania's exports to Kosovo have scored 8.9 per cent growth over the last 11 months, while imports fell by about 38.2m euros. According to the report published by the Statistics Institute in Albania (INSTAT) on foreign trade, exports to Kosovo during the January-November period were 37.7 billion dollars [360m euros], out of 34.6 billion dollars in the 11th quarter of 2022.
Meanwhile, imports for the 11-month month accounted for $10.6 billion from over 14.3 billion in the 11-month 2022.
Albania's main exports to Kosovo are represented by exports of metal and metal materials, minerals and fuels, food, as well as chemical and plastic products.
Important in the export structure are domestic wood/mobiliare products such as seats (carries and armchairs) or other furniture. Farm products also have weight.
During this period, referring to INSTAT data, Albania has exported about 15.8 billion lek of construction and metal materials to Kosovo and about 7.3 billion dollars of minerals, fuel, electricity.
From October 1st 2022, all Kosovo's destination goods are under way in Durres Customs.
There are over 1,000 businesses from Kosovo that currently benefit from the opening of this branch, not only time, but also reduced spending costs. Referring to data from Dogan, only this year have 50 per cent of goods and containers that are distributed in Durres and have a destination for the Kosovo market.
