28 murders have occurred in Kosovo for the past 11 months alone.
Between January 1st and 2023 and October 31, 2023, according to the Kosovo Police, 26 murders have occurred.
Also, on the evening of November 29th, Kosovo was shocked after two serious murders in Pristina, where, in separate cases, one woman and one man were killed.
Kosovo Police spokesman Bajram Krasniqi has said that “from January 1st to October 31st are counted 26 cases of murder”.
Furthermore, Krasniqi has added that recent cases of murder are still not processed in the statistics system, as they, according to him, are processed only after the month ends November.
“
Security expert Drizan Shala, for the Dukaagjini Portal, has said that security in Kosovo has emerged from its contributions, and that, according to him, has occurred due to increased violence, killings and robberies in recent times.

“Dhuna, the killings, as well as the robberies in these last days in Kosovo are delivering a message that public security has emerged from specific contributions guaranteeing individual security”, Shala has said.
One of the reasons for increased crime in the country, according to Shala, is the lack of economic and social welfare.
He has called on the state to take preventative measures to reduce crime in the country.
“The risks leading to such criminal acts are based on the lack of a real economic/social system of criminal robbery, while the murder and violence share is defined as the psychological factor of taking such criminal acts. The country's institutions would have to deal with the problem on a scientific basis by dealing with the ethiology and the phenomenon of action to take preventive action in the first stage and in the degree of hope, in the moment that progress of action does not stop at first”, Shala has declared.
According to the security expert, police should have operational plans in the fight against illegal weapons.
Kosovo's “Police need to take a broad-size action by stopping every car in cities in later hours to stop carrying weapons and other criminal things and thus signaling that zero tolerance for the chief criminal acts” has ended Shala for the Dukagjini Gate.
While security expert Fadil Kajazi has said that the killings that are taking place in Kosovo are because citizens have the potential to be equipped with illegal weapons very easily.

“We have weapons stocks left over from the war and are unlegised and citizens keep them in their homes, and this is a consequence of”, he has declared.
Even Cateazi as Shala said that the economic crisis is the factor that produces these crimes and, according to him, the government should take measures for “economic recovery”.
The first “is the social, economic situation that determines the situation. It's a crisis in the population that seems to have been ignored, but these acts that are happening both thefts and domestic violence and widespread crime is a crisis that Kosovo society is experiencing because of the economic situation... we're witnesses, price hikes, unemployment are all factors that produce these situations”, Kaite said.
He has said there should be a national strategy for legalisation of weapons, since, according to him, there is no crime with legalised weapons.
“Consist that legalization of weapons, which citizens keep at home, is the best way to get control of the weapons, since we don't have criminal acts that are caused by legalized weapons”, it's concluded Cateazi.
Meanwhile, the other security expert, Arben Dashevci, has told Dukagjin that Kosovo has been growing crime in all its forms since 1999.
The post-war crime in Kosovo in all its forms has taken great momentum. As a cause of criminality, it is undoubtedly the serious socioeconomic state, and as a result of this situation many young people have taken to the path of enrichment through negative phenomena, such as narcotics, theft, theft, and the highest level of criminality such as murder. Targeted by security, these phenomena are among the main causes that undermine public safety, the lives of citizens of the RKS<1>, Dashevci has declared.

Furthermore, he has stressed that the state should play its role and draft policies guaranteeing public security to the citizens of the country.
The state's “Role as the main and most sophisticated organisation is cruise in the country's security. Such situations have been present in anarchist societies in the past. The state through its mechanisms has to activate strongly and harmonise preventative policies and expectations always based on empirical research of criminality in our country. The main causes, non-licensed weapons are prospering, drugs are very present, and the country's socioeconomic situation is particularly heavy on young people, and as a result of the degenerative behavior, crime, murder is taking place in our society. Therefore, the Ministry of Internal Affairs must draft such policies that guarantee public order and security for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, because it is its” mission, the expert has added.
Dashevci has ended up saying that there must be research in order to prevent crime.
As for the last two murders in Pristina, Pristina Constitutional Prosecutor's spokeswoman Laureta Ulaj, in an answer to the Dukaagjini portal has said they are working on lighting up all circumstances.
Regarding the murder on the “road, the Dalip Alshiqii”, Ulaj has said that the information thus far suspected of a death robbery.
From the critical and ongoing night, the State Prosecutor in co-ordination with relevant units is engaged in lighting all the circumstances of this case. At the order of the prosecutor, the victim's body was sent to the Law Medicine Institute”, Ulaj has declared.
While, for the next murder, which took place on “Ali Vitita”, Ulaj has said that a person allegedly deprived of life to the victim (male) with sharp-toothed tools.
The Victime was sent to the IML, at the order of the prosecutor, the case has already been initiated. The investigative actions are continuing to be taken against this case and the suspect person has been identified, but is currently on the run”, she has followed.
