Kosovo Police Union Chairman Imer Zeqiri has confirmed that 86 members of the police have resigned since January. Since this institution was formed by the end of 2022 over 2 200 officials left the institution.
According to him, the large number of evacuations have resulted from poor conditions, inadequate wages. He even said that even after retirement they do not have adequate treatment, paying only 100 euros.
The resignations in the Kosovo Police have taken place even earlier, since the formation of the Kosovo Police until December 31st, 2022, we have had more than 2,000 and 200 resignations, counted to be nearly 100 per year. But different periods have been in some more years or less, just for this year only for 2023 from January until now we have 86 resignations, and most of these resignations are due to conditions and well-being, and of an undignified salary, or not enough to ensure the existence of a family as small as other conditions, health insurance and vital pension laws, because police officials when they complete their career after the age of 56 are in the 100 Euro-3x>
Commenting on police shares, he said they have capacity and will to protect order and calm, but who said they should have free hands. While he said they should have a higher budget, EO reports.
Kosovo's “Police have capacity, but it only needs free hands, which has free hands to act on any legal and constitutional situation, otherwise if the ban on the military capabilities of other countries is definitely another issue that you can evaluate only at times.
I think that a higher budget has had to be divided, as far as police or security institutions are concerned, because these needs are extremely large, whether for well-being, whether for other logistical means or whatever, the Kosovo Police or security institutions can happen even with additional demands, unplanned, so it feels that it has had to split a higher budget”.
