In his address, Begaj also had a message of politics, asking him to find a compromise to serve his citizens.
“I call for representatives of Albanians in the country who are humble to work for a Albania that is ruled by law, which has priority among all. In your parliamentary life to be led by national interest on ideological differences, by compromise and not by confrontation, by responsibility for the future, and love for Homeland”, Begaj said.
For State head, 28 November is a day of memory, while stressing that Albania is ahead of the challenges of building strategic policies both inside and abroad.
“28 November is the day of memory and respect for the past and inspiration for the future. Today is the day of gratefully remembering the blood - written sacrifice of Albanian patriots. A small country, a peace actor in international relations, Albania is ahead of the challenges of building strategic policies both within and outside the country. These are primarily about improving the quality of life of our citizens and finalising integration into the European family. The latest developments in the international arena have shown that peace is never safe, and the well-being is never enough”, Begaj stressed.
The president also called for closer co-operation with Kosovo.
“We are lucky to have two Albanian states in the region. Co-operation with Kosovo, in equal positions as two states of one nation, should be as close, symmetric and fulfilling”, Begaj said.
