Kosovo police have been declared today in terms of fire that has filled a part of the Pristina Institute of Legal Medicine.
According to police, the fire was located by firemen and there were no injuries.
The police have already launched investigations into the case.
“QKUK Pristina 21.11,2023: 08:00. Two offices in the IML facility at QKUK are involved in the fire. The fire department has located and shut down the fire. No reported injuries, the case in investigations by relevant units”, said the police report.
By Pristina's Constitutional Prosecutor, in a response to Express they have announced they have issued several authorisations for conducting examinations from the site of the event.
“U announce that, with the information received by Kosovo Police concerning the fire incident at the Institute of Legal Medicine in Pristina, the State Prosecutor has come to the scene along with all relevant units to undertake all necessary investigative actions in order to clarify the causes of this incident. The State Prosecutor has issued several authorisations for conducting examinations by the site and from their findings eventually in case of presenting elements of the criminal act, he will take further reform actions on the KPPRK provisions”, the prosecution's response reported.
Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has stated that from the fire that has included this Tuesday the facility of the Legal Medicine Institute has not been burned or damaged by mortore remains or archives or samples of this institution.
The minister further said the forensics, fire and electrotechnic teams are still doing their job in order to know the causes of fire.
Police and prosecutors are also doing their job. Because of those that have occurred in the IML over the years, citizens may rightly be concerned about this, but without realizing the cause of the fire, we cannot provide more”, she said.
Two offices within the Law Medicine Institute are involved in Tuesday's breakfast flames. The investigation of the Fire Department has been immediate, and luckily the fire has been located.
