The Kosovo Journalists' Association has announced that for the first time, Kosovo will be the host of the biggest journalists' event in Europe in May of next year.
AGK announces:
) We're happy to announce COMM SOVA will for the first time be the European Association of Journalists EFJ for the organisation's annual meeting, which will be held in May, 2024.
The annual EFJ meeting will be organised by the Association of Kosovo Journalists in the country's capital, Pristina.
) This meeting will mark an important historic moment for AGK, and the organisation is ready to host a major event.
The “is an extraordinary moment in AGK's new 20-year history to be believed in such a great organization. We will welcome hundreds of journalists from across Europe to Pristina next year to discuss important issues related to the safety of journalists on our continent, and will also be able to show the extraordinary hospitality our state is known for” has said AGK Chairman Xhemajl Rexha.
The EFJ Executive Board has not made the decision easy, since there were two outstanding candidates ahead: Skopje and Pristina. This shows our colleagues' determination in the Balkans to work for better working conditions and greater security in a unstable world. We are looking forward to holding for the first time the annual EFJ Meeting in Kosovo”, Ricardo Gutierrez, secretary general of the European Federation of Journalists, has said.
