On November 17th, 2004, I had resigned from the prime minister's post to appear for interview with The Hague prosecutors in Pristina as war crimes suspect and violation of the laws and customs of war. After receiving the first indictment, a lengthy judicial process began. From that day until November 29, 2012, legal prosecution continued. Although I was released in my first act as an innocent man, after several years I returned to retrial for a second time. This entire court process lasted more than eight years, where, ultimately today 11 years ago, I took the plea of innocence which sealed my innocence and my fellow fighters for the fair and clean fight of the KLA”, he wrote in a post in “Facebook”
He said he hopes that as it was the verdict in his favour, even now the innocence of the accused by the Special Prosecutor in The Hague will be proven.
