The Hague cancels family visits of former KLA leaders without giving any reason

The Scheveningen Centre of pre-prisonment at The Hague, where former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders are being held in custody, has banned phone calls and communications through video connection (zomor platforms) between detainees and family members during Sunday. Klan Kosova has learned from some family members who have been planning contact via video connection, that this has not been accomplished according to plan without giving them any reason to advance, or later announcement of no contact.
Meanwhile, only the video connection of calls has been cancelled, as has former President Hashim Thaci's brother Blerim.
“Today, while we were on our way to The Hague and had made all the necessary reservations there, since we had a confirmed visit to our brother tomorrow, an announcement has come that has been canceled, without any reason, no clarification. The same announcement had been made to other visitors. For us as a family, this behavior is truly unacceptable. Not only are they being detained outside any legal practice, violating human rights but they are now penalizing us and their family, not even allowing us to visit and meet our family members. In addition to being unjustly kept in prison for three years, they are now trying to isolate even more, not even visitors. This is not about justice, said Blerim Thaci.
Such restrictions had only occurred during the first year of staying in custody for KLA leaders, as part of measures taken during the time of the pandemic.
Klan Kosova has sent questions to the Centre for Pre-burging and at the address of Specialised Chambers to learn the reason and is still awaiting an official response.
