At one time, Kosovo is facing large circulation of the counterfeit 2 euro metal currency. Citizens, in this case, are being urged not to pay cash payments.
Former Kosovo Central Bank governor (BQK), Fehmi Mehmeti, says that when the payments are paid through the bank, security is 100%.
He also requires businesses to be equipped with machines that identify fake money, as well as at the same time hold staff training.
My call for all citizens, business is to avoid cash payments as much as possible. So they use roads that are official, so payments are carried out through the banking sector and security is 100%. All businesses, all the institutions that deal with the cash flow or that have cash available, my request is what they don't have, have their own equipment, tools that identify the safety elements and that identify fake money. On the contrary, this has consequences, monetary costs for business as well and also maintain staff training, which should identify or have basic knowledge of the element of security and method for identifying false money”, he declared at “Diaryr” on Tv 1 .
During yesterday, Kosovo Police have found and seized 85 thousand euros of counterfeit 2 euro metal coins in Pristina, with six persons being arrested and sent to hold for 48 hours.
