The country's deputy prime minister, Besnik Bislimi, has talked about the European Commission's Progress Report for Kosovo during today's session in the assembly.
He said mobilising the government to catch up with the European integration process, following the stagnation, according to him, several years old is bearing fruit.
The latest “report released on November 8th includes developments from July last year until June of this year, but if there have been substantial developments after this period, they are included”.
“is the first report after our application for EU membership, and after the decision on visa liberalisation from January 1st 2024, two facts mentioned in the report”, Bislimi said.
Bislimi said that the government's commitment to the EU is ever greater, and therefore said the government supports the growth plan for the Western Balkans as it added that the measures set by the EU are important to be removed as soon as possible by the European Commission.
The European Commission's “Measures are still in force and we believe there is a possibility that the presence of these measures has also had an impact on the assessment of Kosovo. Measures that are in force conflict with the region's efforts to accelerate EU integration, especially with the latest” initiatives.
Kosovo has made the right steps, so it is very important that as soon as it attracts these measures that are returnable and without consequences, so that the focus will turn to advancing our country's European integration”, Bislimi said.
