Ali Ahmeti, chairman of the Democratic Union for Integration, the largest Albanian party in Northern Macedonia, has voiced support for Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, in the third edition of the Diaspora Summit being held in Tirana.
Ahmeti said that “Europe cannot be calm without the Western Balkans”, while stressing that Albania and Northern Macedonia are “a step ahead of membership”. He asked Rama to raise his voice “and also a little” and saying “n you have”.
Dear Eddie, we think we're one step ahead of membership. You've got to keep your voice up a little longer, just like you've already raised. The rest of us haven't been, but you have us on your side. So, I'd like to wish all of you health. To live the Albanian people”, Ahmeti said.
We won the wars, both politically and militarily, diplomatically. Today we have a new and stronger fight. Make our homeland prosperous. To organise much harder than we are organised”, he said.
