The action in the north, police and customs officers arrested for two years being bugged

Nine people today have been arrested (8 customs officers and a police officer) after a police action in the north. 

Insider finds out that the case where 8 customs officers were arrested began in 2021. Sources have told Insider that with legitimate secret measures, suspects have long been being bugged.

According to these sources, these suspects have operated at the border checkpoint between Kosovo and Northern Macedonia. A portion of them have then operated at the border point that shared Kosovo with Serbia.

Initial doubts, according to sources, are that the same in certain cases have accepted bribes in various amounts to allow motor vehicles to cross the border without waiting in order and physical control, only by document control.

Different, Kosovo Special Prosecutor He has provided details about today's action, where he said checks were conducted at 11 customs locations supported by police, where nine officials were arrested and weapons, telephones and bullets were seized.

According to the Special Prosecutor, the search has been made aimed at collecting evidence and banning nine officials for criminal acts “misusing official position or authority” and “taking bribes”.

During this action, evidence has been collected supporting the suspicion that these nine (9) officials, eight (8) of whom are Customs officials and a (1) police official from the border police, have been involved in the works they are suspected of.
