Von der Leenen: We must increase support for Ukraine, pressure on Russia

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyeen has said the EU must continue to increase pressure on Russia and support Ukraine.

“We must continue to increase pressure on Russia and continue, of course, our firm support for Ukraine”, she said at a press conference with Swedish Prime Minister Wolf Christersson in Kiruna, Sweden.

Von der Leyen said Russia had cut 80 per cent of its gas supplies to the EU since the start of the war, but the bloc had compensated by diversising its suppliers.
