Due to the lack of material to be equipped with passports, Interior Minister Jedal Svecla has asked the state of Germany to allow the entry of Kosovo citizens who have expired with passports.
Svechla through a letter to the German authorities and has provided it KALLXO.com, has demanded that Kosovo citizens be allowed who have a valid residence permit in Germany and receive services with Kosovo's expired passport.
He has demanded that Kosovo citizens with valid residence permits in Germany could return from Kosovo to Germany despite the Kosovo passport's suspension.
Also, newborn babies in Germany by parents with residence permits in Germany who have flown to Kosovo to obtain passport RKS to be presented with these documents: permission of the German residence of one of the parents who travels with the infant, the German baby's birth certificate, the Kosovo birth certificate.
Minister Svechla has demanded that these measures be applied in June 2023, or earlier if the issue of lack of identification documents is resolved.
At the beginning of the letter, it is said that initially due to the supply chain issues caused by the lack of materials as a result of pandemic and then war in Ukraine, Kosovo as many other countries are facing lack of material for identification documents.
Because of this, a number of Kosovo citizens cannot be equipped with new passports or renew them by the expired” letter, which dates back to December 21, 2022.
Svechla has posted on paper that the company contracted for supply of material for identification documents has not been able to obtain the necessary material.
Kosovo citizens are now facing long waiting to be equipped with personal documents such as patent, ID and passports.
Interior Minister Jhelal Svecla has said this has been caused by the lack of material for their production.
He has said that the Civil Recording Agency has given priority to issuing documents for an emergency category that means, cases of disease, family union cases, sports events and diplomacy, so these categories have priority.
