Haradinaj expected in UN: Discussing Political Development, With Special Stress the Need for Reaching Final Agreement With Serbia

After the meeting with Escobar, Haradinaj has said they have discussed the need for reaching the final agreement legally binding between Kosovo and Serbia.

I felt honored today at the State Department to meet American emissar Gabriel Escobar, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.

At an open and frank meeting, we discussed political developments in Kosovo, with particular emphasis the need for reaching the final agreement legally binding between Kosovo and Serbia.

I thanked Mr. Escobar for his and the American administration's commitment now for many decades and encouraged deepening relations and for support of Kosovo to be increased.

Kosovo's achievements, from the 1990s, liberation and statehood have occurred in joint partnership. Even the Final Agreement should be a joint victory.

We will work closely with the United States so that Kosovo's partnership for peace and NATO membership can be achieved urgently, as it is vital to lasting peace in the region.
