During a telephone conversation Vuciqi has had with Council of Ministers vice president and Italy's Foreign Affairs Minister Antonio Tayan, he has told the Italian top diplomat to preserve stability in Kosovo must implement the agreement on establishing association.
As Serbia's Presidency reports, Tajan has stressed to Vuciqi in a telephone conversation that it is necessary to preserve peace and stability, and for that it has called for the transition of the situation to Kosovo, as well as the return of Serbs to institutions in Pristina.
“Vukiqi has said that it is necessary to meet a small and simple condition, which is to respect the Brussels Agreement, or the formation of the Union of Serbian Communities, which Pristina committed by signing it nearly ten years ago, and that everything else is the product of Pristina's unilateral decisions and movements”, the statement said.
On Tuesday in Zubin-Potok and North Mitrovica, municipal election officials and police officials, while trying to open the offices of the Election Commissions, have been attacked with shocks and shootings in the air by strangers. As a result, they have been unable to continue the preparation process for extraordinary elections in the north. There were attacks on the north Wednesday as well.
Elections for mayor of four municipalities in the north: Northern Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Leposaviq and Zvecan, are scheduled to be held on December 18th. Meanwhile, elections for municipal municipalities in Zvecan and Leposaviq will be held on December 25th.
But US and German ambassadors Jeff Hovenier and Jorn Rohde, respectively, have demanded that the elections be postponed, arguing that there is no favourable environment for their development.
