The EU budget for coping with crises in the Western Balkans will increase by 60% for the period 2021-2024. That would otherwise mean an increase of 350m euros”, the commissioner said at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
Oliver Varhely said the European Union only welcomes migrants who choose legal ways, while adding that countries will protect their asylum systems.
