Minister Hajdari's scandal: Law to Favor an Oil Corporation

Knowing that there is conflict of interest, Industry, Intervention and Trade Minister Roseta Hajdari has allowed to favour one of the oil corporations in Kosovo. This corporation is also one of Albin Kurt's major campaign donors. In June of this year, one of the largest corporations [...]

In June of this year, one of Kosovo's largest derivatives corporation had asked industry, entrepreneurship and trade, the Metrology Agency to verify the equipment it sells to citizens. The request that had also reached the official mail of Minister Roseta Hajdari at first.

Within the Metrology Agency, responsible for this process, it was discussed which department should carry out this verification, according to the company's demand in question.

At first, an official from the Department of Scientific Metrology was proposed. Directors of the agency had warned that this department could not carry out this verification, but should be delegated with competence, according to the legal norms and international standards of the other department, that of legal metrology.

“You need to find solutions within legal metrology, the commitment of officials of sensical metrology to legal metrology activities, poses conflict of interest and is contrary to international standards”, reportedly in the letter sent to Minister Hajdari on February 14th, 2021, about 15:30.

This official even further on this e-mail writes that if one cannot be found by the relevant department, that of legal methodology, there should be a consultation with Minister Hajdari's Cabinet that the project of the derivative corporation not be carried out, as he writes, “contrary to law and international standards”.

Sources within the Institute of Metrology have explained that one of the reasons why the official and department ultimately decided Minsj Hajdari to do the work presented conflict of interest and violation of law, is that this department was involved in earlier stages of verification.

So, if you're allowed to verify the scientific metrology department, you can have them verify their work, monitor themselves, and approve their earlier work”, this source told the Institute.

In all these discussions, to realise the request of the multi-million-dollar oil company, which is also one of the largest donors of the Vetvendosje party, by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, was also kept informed and informed by Minister Roseta Hajdari.

Even with official communication, she was confirmed that if this action was carried out by scientific metrology, and the official from whom she was asked presented direct conflict of interest through the use of her authority, Minister Hajdari finally decided that the service would still have to be carried out to the company, even though by breaking the law.

In the email that Minister Hajdari sent on 14 June 2021, about 5 p.m., so just two hours after the conflict of interest was written down, it supports the group of those within the Metrology Agency found that there was no conflict of interest and to proceed with the realisation of the company's demand in question.

Inseyder contacted the company in question, but the same has yet to be answered. The content of these communications has also been published in the “oil mixer - the shocking recovery of the witness” of InDox, but even after that, the ministry headed by Roseta Hajdari has not commented on the case.

“The oil mixer - The shocking recovery of witness” is a previously broadcast documentary.

Through the expert's confession, exclusive documents and interviews of influential people in the multimillion-dollar derivative industry bring to the public the secrets of this sector.

How much oil is contained that enters the country? Who are those who mix it with other products at the expense of citizens? Who's asking for less control over this sector? What is Kurt's Government doing to discipline this industry?
