Now the British government has taken a stand, inviting English fans to avoid travel to Rome, where the Southgate national team will face Ukraine in the quarterfinals of Euro 2020 on Saturday.

At the same time, the British Football Federation has confirmed that it will not sell tickets to British fans, because they will not be able to attend the match because of the anti-Condavid regulation: after arriving in Italy, travelers who have been to the United Kingdom, in the previous 14 days must self-isolate for five days and then present a negative buffer.

The Federation explained it will now give British fans living in Italy priority for tickets. Embassy sources say they will provide “their usual consular assistance plan”.

As repeated by Lazios D'Amato's Health Council, those arriving from the United Kingdom in Italy will have to respect a 5-day quarantine -- a move that should discourage the British from traveling. But now authorities have wanted to reinforce the message: “Our request is to support the national team from home and cheer in front of TV as much as possible”, said Anne Marie Trevelyan, deputy secretary of commerce. “The challenge is to be heard up to Rome she added that I am sure we will be able to seize the opportunity to better support our fantastic national team”.

Some 30,000 British citizens live in Italy, and embassy staff had helped Welsia fans earlier to cope with the match in Olympia with Italy in the group phase. 16,000 spectators will be able to attend the match on Saturday, while slightly more than two thousand are scheduled for the English Football Federation.
