The former Serbian diplomat forgets that Kurti removed the 100% tax and did not establish the Recyprocity: Expects Kosovo to change position

Zoran Milivojevic, former Serbian diplomat and expert on political developments, has stated that there are no indicators that any progress can be expected in Brussels regarding the dialogue, since according to him “everything depends on the behaviour of Pristina”. “If there is no difference in Pristina's position, which insists only on status issues, it is difficult [...]

“If there is no change in Pristina's position, which insists only on status issues, we will hardly have any progress. When it comes to Serbia, Serbia's position is unchanged, very clear, dialogue yes, normalisation of course, it should be in the interest of both sides”, he told RTS.

In fact, the Kurti Government has met two very large conditions to sit at the Brussels tables with the Serbian side: the removal of the tax 100% last year and the non-set of reciprocity.

However, Milovojevic does not mention those Pristina moves.

According to him, Serbia will insist on three things as it has done before in continuing dialogue on issues for which there are agreements and that are the economy and the missing, what life means, above all for the Association of Serbian municipalities and the third in terms of continuing dialogue where it stopped a year and a half ago, ahead of the pandemic.

To complete, it depends on whether there will be a change in the position of the party by Pristina and whether the EU has exerted pressure on the Pristina side to create conditions for continuing dialogue, and if so, to what extent”.

The “is very important that we have a dialogue today and it has no alternative”, he stressed.

“This is the most important news today and regardless of how it ends, it is important that dialogue develop”, Milivojevic added.
