“They will be killed or captured,” said police chief Leon Charles, writes BBC, translates Periscope.
Mr. Moise, 53, was fatally shot as his wife was wounded after the attackers broke into his house Wednesday.
The president was reportedly shot with several bullets.
“Four mercenaries were killed and two others were intercepted and happened under our control,” said Mr. Charles in a TV statement. Three police hostages were rescued. ”
“We blocked suspects in the street after leaving the crime scene. Since then, we have fought with them.”
Temporary Prime Minister Claude Joseph called for calm and declared a state of national emergency.
US President Joe Biden comforted Haiti's people about this event. Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani did the same. /Periscope
