On Thursday in the offices of Albania's Basketball Federation (FSHB) in Tirana, the first meeting of the Unic League Steering Board has been held.
Members of the Unic League Steering Board are: Shaqir Totaj, Edmond Biqaku, Elvira Dushku, Korab Lazzani, while the mayor has been elected Ilir Trebicka, a known name that has contributed greatly to Albanian basketball.
The board later appointed League Director Dren Zatriqi, while Technical Secretary has been elected Fidan Hamiti. Meanwhile, Marketing official is going to be Dren Hasangekaj, and Official Finance Officer Nadire Kayashi.
At this meeting, they pledged they would work to make this league as successful and interesting as possible for the public, clubs and basketball fans.
The Board's next meeting will be held in Pristina, where more details of the Unic League will be discussed.
Meanwhile, tonight, by 7:00 p.m., the agreement on forming the Unic League between Kosovo and Albania will be officially signed.
The deal will be signed, the president of the FSHB, Mr. Avni Ponari, the chairman of FBK, Mr. Arben Fetah, in the presence of Mrs. Besa Sahini, Minister of Education, Sports and Youth in Albania and Mrs. Vlora Doshori, Minister for Culture, Youth and Kosovo Sports.
Attending this ceremony will be the prime minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, who will also discover the Evil logo UNICE.
Also at the signing ceremony of the agreement will be FIBA Europe President Turgay Demirel.
Demirel, who had been in Kosovo last year to offer support for Kosovo basketball, will give a speech at the signing ceremony of the agreement to show that he supports the League and will provide all necessary support.
The league will have eight teams. The best four from Kosovo and Albania.
