Resilience from long-term injury is no easy task for a footballer, and Marco Asensio has experienced such suffering in the last 11 months. Real Madrid's star cannot hold back tears by confessing to the hurt.
Asensio, however, says he feels grateful for the environment at Real Madrid, which has enabled him to spend his most difficult career after injury in July 2019
Just after 11 months, Asensio returned to the playing field and the most wonderful way possible, marking a goal in the first touch of the ball, in 23 seconds, corresponding to the number of his fans, and assisting in Real Madrid's 3:0 victory over Valentine's.

The first week was very difficult. There comes a time when you have to overcome the injury. The hardest period is weeks after surgery, this is the time when you're feeling the most bad”, tell Asensio.

I was obsessed with rehabilitation and spent 24 hours a day thinking about my knee, which is a challenge. First I had to lower inflammation, then walk, then practice my legs. I've worked hard and I've exceeded this”, he added.
With tears on my cheek, he underlined: “I felt hope, excitement and freedom when I ran again”.
