New details from the Benfita Club incident, where two players were injured

The post-edemia football of Coronavirus has changed significantly, but some old bad habits never change unfortunately. The confirmation comes from Portugal, where an unbelievable episode of violence occurred in the week of return to the field: Benfida fans, disappointed by 0-0 against the Modests of Tondela who allowed the capture at the helm of the Porto ranking, have attacked the team bus with stones, wounding two players, Wegl and Zivkovic, who were transported to the hospital.

News releases Records, which explains that players have received immediate treatment: Zivkovic was also hit in the eye by a few cyphls, while Wegl was in shock for being the victim of a violent bus attack even when he played for Borussia Dortmund.

The two players have “held observation at the hospital following the wounds sustained”, informs the club in an official communiqué: “Bunda feels sad about the criminal attack on buses and players that, after the match with Tondela, was returning to Centro de Pasantias Seixal. Benfida will ensure full co-operation with authorities and requires maximum commitment to identify those responsible perpetrators of these criminal acts”, the Lisbon Club communique concludes.

Even the Portuguese Leg has issued a communiqué regarding this issue: “we strongly want the coward attack, even more at a moment at which Portuguese football has joined to resume an activity that gives the thrill of millions of enthusiasts. It is absolutely unacceptable that such events continue to occur. Clearly, the responsibilities are not fans, but criminals who will be identified by forces of rank”.
