Kosovo Police Director Rashit Qalaj indicated that 25 officials have been affected by COVID-19, of whom 11 have recovered and 14 others are in treatment.
Qalaj also said that the total number of police officers who have been isolated themselves at the moment is 138, while until today it has been 390.
We can say that the total number of police officials is 25, of them 11 have recovered and 14 are under treatment. Thirteen cops and one is a civil official. The total number of people who are now isolated is 138, while there were 390 to this day. We should have tested police officials, even though the test has turned negative they're on self-isolation today, says Qalaj.
He also stressed that of the 14 persons in the treatment, one of them is a civil official.
As for the work of the Kosovo Police, he indicated he is continuing on a regular schedule, through the Prizren region, which is still working over the longer hours of 12 hours.
“Work continues normally. We have personally supported the Prizren region. We have a problem transporting the cops we send to Prizren. During the pandemic, there are many different police activities. I think the police did a pretty good job too. Since yesterday we've been working on the normal eight-hour schedule, except for Prizren's regional directorate, which will be working 12 hours”.
Qalaj also indicated that Kosovo police, all the time, are on the ground to keep the situation under control.
It's a higher number of citizens getting on the street. The police are trying to keep the restriction of movement under control, in most cases we talk to them, and only in extreme cases do we take measures”.
