Pandemia Coronavirus is causing an economic crisis in Kosovo as in all other countries. We will face the worst economic situation since the 1990s in Kosovo. This requires leadership, unity and measures that will enable our economic recovery.
We need to help businesses cover the immediate needs of district capital and continue their activities in these difficult times. Kosovo needs immediate intervention measures as well as strategic measures for restructuring key economic sectors.
We need to provide state incentives and assistance to companies. In some cases with companies that are essential to our economy, we must consider their nationalism as France and other countries in Europe propose, with the goal of saving these companies. But this requires a deep consensus and analysis.
Kosovo should provide the direct, advance, tax advantages and subsidies business community. Help should be provided for primary production of agricultural and food products. It is essential that our domestic production of powers, to gain more independence from imports.
We must establish a national economic recovery committee in the country that will unite the government, opposition to the business community, economic efforts and other interest parties. This is a time when we have to stay united and respond together to economic challenge. The Kosovo Assembly must adopt the law on intervention in the economy.
Everyone can contribute, no one can win this alone.
This is a time to show unity and consensus. When our economy is fine, we have enough room to make party politics. But now our struggle should focus on economic recovery.
If we do not take our feet in the first place, the impact will be a challenge for years. Kosovo must learn from the experiences other countries shared with the economic crisis in 2008.
