The “Tokyo 2020” Olympics will not be cancelled. So has organiser Yoshiro Mori declared, as the postponement is one of many scenarios being considered by organisers.
Mori has said Japan “is not considering canceling the” Olympic Games, saying plans for the start of the Olympic staff on March 26th will continue as they were previously.
Organisers will observe how the situation with the Covid-19 pandemic will take place for four weeks before making a decision on how to continue, he said, adding that the postponement of the Olympic Games “Tokyo 2020” is one of the options being considered.
These comments came after Canada declared it would attract its athletes until it asked the International Olympic Committee to postpone the Olympic Games for a year.
Japan's prime minister, Shinzo Abe, in his speech at the Parliament on Monday has said that the postponement of the Olympic Games is an option if their “shape is made full” impossible.
If this becomes difficult, we will have no other option but to consider putting off with the Olympic principle that sportsmen's health is primary, he stated.
