Last night, the country's President Hashim Thaci, through the social twitter network, announced that the state of Jamaica has recognised Kosovo's citizenship.
Still without having been well confirmed, congratulations and reactions from the country's leaders, including Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and Chief Prime Minister Vjosa Osmani, flocked.
But those who rushed to take credit for Kosovo's recognition by Jamaica were Vetevendosje Movement officials, writes Periscopi.
They billed this recognition to the new government with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, chief of diplomacy Glauk Konjufca.
LV MP Victory Pacolli has reacted to recognising Kosovo's state by Jamaica, saying that recognition has come because VV leads the state.
“Viti 2020 began well. In 2018 we had only one acquaintance, and in 2019 we had a zero date. Today,
Jamaica has recognised the Republic of Kosovo. The era of political change in Kosovo is felt even outside. This change will bring new recognitions, investments and even visa liberalisation. The day has come for you, Kosovo.
Even Adnan Rrust from the Vetevendosje Movement rushed into his Facebook to show his friends how Glauk Konjufca has been bringing the first-day diplomatic victory.
Not even two weeks of appointment, Glauk accepted recognition from Jamaica!”, wrote the Rrustemi.
But news of Kosovo's recognition by Jamaica turns out to be untrue. At least that's what this country's top diplomat said.
In a Twitter post, distributing Kosovo President Hashim Thaci's statement, who has thanked Jamaica for recognition, Kamina J Smith has written that her country has not recognised Kosovo.
Until today Jamaica has not recognised Kosovo”, it has written. /Periscopi/
